DFH Server Rules
Respect • Integrity • Sportsmanship
1. No Cheating, Hacking, or Spamming
-
Reporting Cheaters:
Do not complain or argue with suspected hackers in public chat. Instead, type status in the console to grab their Steam ID or IP address, or press F5 to record a demo. Report the evidence quietly to an admin via PM or email.
- Admin Decisions: Admin rulings on suspected hackers are final. If you are a regular player, you may discuss the ruling calmly with a DFH Admin via private message.
- Zero Spam Tolerance: Text and microphone spamming are strictly prohibited.
2. Respect Your Fellow Players
- Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech: Any racial slurs, or words/phrases that offend a person's ethnicity, religion, or skin color, will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
- Chat Decency: Do not attempt to bypass the swear filter. Keep cursing to a minimum; if a clan member or player asks you to tone it down, please do so.
- Prohibited Player Name Styles: Keep your names clean. Admins will ask you to change names that include:
- Profanity, acronyms, degrading, or sex-related terms.
- Website addresses or advertisements.
- Special characters or non-alphabet text (e.g., #--#--{{}}).
- Gibberish/unpronounceable text (e.g., qwjfldls).
- Single letters (e.g., J).
- Generic/undetermined names (e.g., Player, unnamed, private).
3. Maintain Balanced Teams
- Voluntary Switching: If teams become uneven (by 2–3 players) and one side is getting ruthlessly slaughtered, the top players are expected to voluntarily switch sides.
- Admin Intervention: Admins will manually balance teams if necessary. If an admin moves you to the other team, do not switch back. Doing so will likely result in a kick.
4. Show Dedication & Sportsmanship
- No Disruption: Don't let your team down by messing around or experimenting with mechanics when the server is active. Experiment when the server is empty.
- AFK Policy: Do not go AFK (Away From Keyboard) without notifying an admin first. Unresponsive players will be kicked, especially if the server is full, to free up slots for active players.
- Gameplay Notes: * Camping is considered normal gameplay in Day of Defeat (DoD).
- Spawn-killing (shooting directly into or out of a spawn zone) is generally prohibited on most maps. Ask an admin if you are unsure.
- "Team jumping" and "pathway blocking" to intentionally ruin the game for others is strictly forbidden.
5. Have Fun!
- The primary goal is a great environment for teamplay. Keep things fun, friendly, and clean. If an admin requests a change to your behavior or name, please comply immediately.
